5 Spiritual Solutions
I wrote the post below today in response to a summary of a book called "5 Spiritual Solutions" . It's not directly EFT related, but a lot of people come to me for EFT help because they are struggling with their own limiting perfectionistic and absolutist thinking. Perfectionism sounds like it would lead to high performance, but often it leads to paralysis so it's really powerful to learn how to keep it in check. I know there's a rule in polite company not to talk about religion or politics. This is because strongly held beliefs clashing at a dinner party can lead to a heated and sometimes unfriendly discussion. But I'm going to dive in anyway because strongly held beliefs can create equally heated unfriendly discussions inside ourselves, which can be good growing opportunities, or destructive inner battles.
___________
I would guess there are actually more than 5 solutions, but this book is not pretending that these are the only 5 solutions. It seems to address someone like me who has both spiritual and scientific tendencies. I can never fully embrace any particular religion because I can't help but see each one as a collective opinion rather than an absolute truth. However I do value the spirit of religions in general because for the most part they create community, interconnectedness, moral guidance, purposefulness and the very real and important perspective that there is more to life than what meets the eye... and it's bigger than any one of us, or even all of us together.
I can't help but see the validity multiple points of view. It affects every part of my life. I'm constantly studying science and spirituality together as if they are one topic. Even my approach to my career as an illustrator is as an information designer, because my brain likes to look at all aspects of the information I've been asked to illustrate to understand the dynamics of how things work, how they function, how they communicate, what they mean.
I can't help it. If I carry the logic through far enough down the string of reasoning I can't see how anything can be held as absolute truth. Scientific knowledge is limited by the beliefs and biases and technology available to the scientific community, which constantly proves itself wrong about this or that. So inevitably the model we have right now is not absolutely accurate. The same is true of religions. People don't practice their religion or hold sacred the word for word texts exactly they way their ancestors did, so that's constantly evolving too.
The world and the universe is too big and complex for our limited minds and limited powers of perception to fully comprehend in an absolute way. So we live by a constantly growing and shifting set of estimated probabilities about things. We think, "This seems to be the way things work so it must be true" and then we live by it. With enough motivation and apparent validation we will hold very strongly to certain ideas and think of them as absolute truth... even if there's really no way to actually know for certain.
So we have to live on faith. Faith that what seems to be true or seems to work now will mostly continue to be true or continue to work later. Then the world changes some more and we have to adapt our faith some more. But certain things do remain in the pattern. The need for meaning, understanding, purpose, a higher power, connection, community, and moral guidance are always there in people. However they evolve, spiritual practices and religions and science are all vitally important and necessary to us as a species.
At the same time I think it's important to acknowledge our own fallibility. Even the fallibility of our strongly held beliefs. Because in the fervour to defend our strongly held beliefs we can cause a lot of damage to each other and to ourselves and to innocent bystanders. This is why I think it's important to forever learn and grow, so we can all develop the wisdom to live well, in harmony, and realize our best potential as individuals and as a community.

Emotional Blocks are Holding You Back Right Now!

You know how you just never seem to get to that one key thing that you know you "should" do?
... How somehow you have time to watch your favorite TV show but you just can't manage to find time to make that one seemingly simple step towards your success?
This is called a block, or more specifically, an emotional block. Us humans are full of these emotional blocks and they can be pretty tricky in how they keep us from taking that one, or two, or fifty small steps we're afraid to take towards what we really want... even if what we really want is to clarify what it is we really want!
So how do you get yourself to take those steps?
One way is you could force yourself to take that one step. That tactic may work now and again, or it could be so emotionally strenuous or even traumatizing that you strongly avoid taking that step ever again.
Or, you could gently and rapidly remove the emotional blocks so that it's easy for you to take such life sustaining steps again and again with ease. If this is how you'd rather do it, I can help you do that. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is highly effective in removing emotional blocks for most people. And the cool thing is, we can do it over the phone, so I can help you from anywhere in the world!
One session is up to an hour long for $75.

Cuckoo!
I’m grateful to have received some criticism recently. And that is that I’m cuckoo for believing in EFT, and that EFT is a placebo and people are “just deciding to change" and that’s why people are deluded into thinking it’s the EFT that’s doing the job, and that it’s not scientific. Well, that person is right about the decision part (and possibly the cuckoo part too ;-) at the very least.
For one thing, every healing technique, including modern western medicine covered by OHIP, has a huge element of placebo effect facilitating the healing. So I can’t argue about that. I’ve been told that EFT works for people who don’t believe it too, which seems to suggest that it’s not pure placebo.
EFT essentially facilitates a *very deep decision* to change how we approach the issue at hand in our life. Left to the “natural” way of making this decision is generally *not* a decision that is casually or easily made.
The “natural” way of such deep decisions is accidental, facilitated unconsciously by painful circumstances accumulating and forcing us to a breaking point where it’s approaching the “decide or die” point. In that case, this kind of deep decision has been created by a very painful crisis or another deep trauma. Believe me I’ve had a lot of those. If I kept waiting for those things to happen I’d run out of lifetime (perhaps sooner than expected) before I get myself where I want to be. The stress of it would probably kill me eventually.
EFT puts *you* in far more immediate conscious control of those deep decisions. Why wait for the crisis? You can take that very deep lesson sooner and less painfully with this process. (Note: EFT is not the only way to do this, but it is one of the most predictably powerful tools I’ve ever seen).
If you’re curious to see scientific evidence about the effectiveness of EFT you can find it at http://www.emofree.com/articles.aspx?id=22. I personally haven’t bothered because I can see the evidence right before my eyes every time I do a session.
Come to the seminar and see for yourself.
Cheers!

Scott Mooney, EFT Coach/Practitioner
Welcome to my EFT site!

My name is Scott Mooney, and I'm a level 2 EFT practitioner, trained by 5 practitioners and mentored by EFT master, Paul Cutright.
There's an extensive article below on what EFT is and how it's done. For now I'll simply say that EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is an astonishingly effective healing technique that seems to work on almost everything it’s been tried on. Our emotions so affect our physical health that by clearing negative emotions we are able to have baffling effects on physical ailments.
Click the resource links in the sidebar to learn even more about EFT.
Don’t forget to read the full article below, and sign up to download your handy interactive and printable EFT Cheat Sheet using the form in the sidebar here. I designed the Cheat Sheet to be your guide to EFT on a page!

EFT Disclaimers
It’s important to note...
Although EFT tends to have incredible therapeutic effects, I as a practitioner am not designated as a therapist. I come at this from a personal development coaching approach and have no institutional training as a psychological therapist. I’m not a doctor or a scientist. EFT is a healing art, in its highest form it's a combination of methodology and intuition.
Although it can very often have profound effects on both physical and emotional healing, EFT is not a replacement for sound medical care. Further to that, EFT can be used to support and enhance your professional medical care. Growing numbers of therapists, nurses, energy healers, and other health practitioners are adopting EFT as one very powerful aspect of their professional practice.
Self Healing with EFT
The EFT Cheat Sheet and mini-course I offer above is a very basic introduction of the process and by no means teaches you all there is to know about using EFT to its full potential. Results are not guaranteed, yet many people have used this basic information alone to help ease pain and eliminate simple emotional blocks. For deep healing of major issues like serious diseases, addictions, serious disorders, and trauma it is important to benefit from one-on-one coaching with an experienced practitioner, and preferably under the supervision of a doctor. You can even further benefit in your EFT sessions by obtaining more formal training in the EFT process, which you can find via these links;
• 6 hour home study crash course gets you your EFT level 1
• Extensive Training DVDs
• EFT for abundance issues
